Framed Jean Marot Original Architectural Engraving No. 14
Jean Marot (1619 – 1679) was a French architect and master engraver of architectural scenes. While few of his own buildings have stood the test of time, his detailed engravings—especially those in the Petit Marot (circa 1659) and Grand Marot (1686) collections—were adored by his peers. Despite a few quirks and creative liberties, these prints remain some of the best windows into French architecture during the early reign of Louis XIV.
